"If I can just say...one thing that I hope people take away from this: I will never ever walk into a gym again that doesn't have CPR (people who know CPR), and there's an AED somewhere in that gym. And I will make sure that every place has something like that." Celebrity trainer Bob Harper gives in-depth interview regarding the severe heart attack and cardiac arrest he suffered at a gym on February 12, 2017. He speaks about the event, his ongoing recovery, and some revelations and advice moving forward. If you have the time, the entire interview is well worth it. Regarding his heart attack/cardiac arrest experience in particular: view :51-2:01, and on the importance of CPR and AEDs in gyms and fitness centers: view 4:51-5:24. Instructor Pete onsite earlier this week at the CPR AED class for one of our Partner for Life AED Program Management clients. Another great group of participants learning how to save a life!
Thanks to our client for sending this awesome class photo from their recent CPR AED training conducted by LSS Instructor Chris. Participants received instruction, hands-on CPR training, and hands-on AED training with the same model as their onsite AED. Way to be prepared to save a life!
Instructors Bryan and Bruce conduct First Aid, CPR AED, Emergency Epinephrine and Bloodborne Pathogen training earlier today for school staff. What a great group of participants, working hard and learning to save lives on a Friday afternoon! Teachers are the best!
This Today Show story highlights the devastating outcome that can occur when an AED is not available at school sports venues. Children who suffer a cardiac arrest while participating in school sports, have a good chance of survival if an AED is nearby and used quickly. Oftentimes, the victim has an undetected heart defect. An AED can shock the victim's heart back into a livable rhythm until EMS/paramedics arrive. In Florida, statutes require that "each public school that is a member of the Florida High School Athletic Association must have an operational automated external defibrillator on the school grounds," although does not specifically address the proximity to each playing field the AED must located.
The quick action by Publix staff members and the availability of an #AED is being credited with saving a woman's life. This is a wonderful story! John Parr of Life Safety Solutions looks on as a Delta employee takes advantage of some hands-on instruction in the use of a defibrillator/AED while attending Delta's Health & Safety Fair on August 24, 2016 at Palm Beach International Airport.
Life Safety Solutions was grateful for the opportunity to participate as a vendor in this year's Florida Conference of the United Methodist Church Expo in Orlando, FL on June 16-18, 2016. Dave Magruder, owner and founder, demonstrated our Philips FRx and OnSite AEDs and introduced our AED Program Management services which cover all brands/models of AEDs and replacement supplies. Scott Movic, CPSI, represented our Safety and Security Assessment services--a difficult but relevant topic as the Expo took place just days after tragedy struck in Orlando sending the city and our country reeling due to more senseless loss of life and devastating injuries. There is no one solution or easy solution to prevent these types of tragedies from occurring, but we can prepare in a way that allows us to react as quickly and safely as possible should a situation arise.
This amazing video captures it all. Great save. AEDs in schools and trained first responders save lives. Thanks to Children's Health Atlanta for sharing this important message.
