Today, Mylan announced their EpiPen4Schools Program has donated over 1,000,000 Epinephrine Auto-Injectors. Their program helps ensure that epinephrine - the only first-line treatment for a life-threatening allergic reaction, anaphylaxis - is available to those experiencing anaphylaxis in a school setting.
Life Safety Solutions is proud to help facilitate this program for our school clients in conjunction with our Emergency Epinephrine for Schools Program. Our program assists schools in initiating and maintaining a successful Emergency Epinephrine access program. We offer medical direction, training, assistance with procurement of auto-injectors, consulting on placement and storage, specialized access cabinets, monitoring of expiration dates and renewals, and semi-annual inspections and replacement services.
There are many documented instances in which an allergic reaction quickly became life-threatening for the victim. Maybe you have a friend or loved one who experienced a severe allergic reaction to something they had never before been allergic. Having emergency epinephrine available to give to the victim as quickly as possible, while awaiting emergency services, can sometimes be the difference between life or death.
These programs make schools safer.
