Designed for
First Responders
and Infrequent
Rescuers
ZOLL designed
the AED Plus to
be used by
people who are
non-medical
personnel.
Anyone taking a
minimum
four-hour
CPR/AED training
course can be
certified to use
an AED. Included
are trained
laypersons such
as security
guards, health
club employees,
flight
attendants,
lifeguards and
office managers.
The innovative
design of the
ZOLL AED Plus
makes the device
user-friendly.
The AED Plus can
also be used by
professional
first responders
such as law
enforcement
personnel and
firefighters.

Actions Guided
by the ZOLL AED
Plus
1:
Through
visual and voice
prompts, the
rescuer
is instructed to
assess a
victim’s
status and call
911.
2:
The AED
Plus guides a
rescuer through
CPR, which
involves
checking the
victim’s
responsiveness,
clearing and
opening the
airway,
beginning rescue
breathing, and
doing chest
compressions. A
special sensor
that is part of
the AED Plus’
electrode pad
tracks a
rescuer’s rate
and depth of
chest
compressions,
delivering voice
prompts such as
“push harder” or
“good
compressions,”
while guiding a
rescuer to the
appropriate rate
and depth. Adult
victims need
compressions at
a rate of 100
per minute and
at a depth of 1˝
to 2 inches.
3:
If
defibrillation
is necessary,
the AED Plus
guides rescuers
through the
process. While
other AEDs
require the
rescuer to
position two
electrode pads
to deliver an
electric shock,
the AED Plus
features
a
CPR-D•padz™,
a one-piece,
pre-connected
electrode, for
quick, easy, and
accurate
placement on the
victim. The
CPR-D•padz
also lasts
four years—the
longest shelf
life of any
electrode sold
today.
4:
The AED
Plus instructs
the rescuer to
continue
necessary
resuscitation
until
professional
medical help
arrives.
